If you’ve ever struggled with what to post on social media, these topical days can help you boost your social media in April and inspire you on what to post. After all, only a few people will like and share a post about your product or blog article, but you’ll get many more for a post saying “Happy New Year”, especially if you can pair it with a nice graphic and find a way to tie it into your brand or company.

To see a more up-to-date list of topical days for social media we have a social media calendar for you to download or request.

1ST April – April Fool’s Day

This is everyone’s classic joke day; on this day you should find something fun or mischievous at work to show your fun side at the business. You can engage with your followers by getting them to share their stories about April Fool’s Day and what they got up to. However, due to circumstances, it needs to be kept tasteful and we’d urge caution this year – some countries (not the UK) have even gone so far as to make laws regarding this, see more about this here.

7th April – World Health Day

A day very fitting in the current circumstances this day is about advocating for health and the importance of staying safe during these difficult times and share out any advice posted from reliable sources or the World Health Organization. Ask your followers what they’re doing whilst in lockdown and how they’re passing the time.

10th April – Siblings Day

This is a good day to share a personal side to your business, share fond or funny stories about your sibling and as your followers to share theirs and share a throwback picture with them, alternatively you could do it about your children being siblings if you don’t have a sibling or can find a better story about them!

18th April – Husband Appreciation Day

This is another day to recognise the special people in your life! Whether they work with you, motivated you or whether they’ve just been there when you needed them, on this day share a nice story (maybe relating to your business) and encourage others to do as well.

20th April – Volunteer Recognition Day

This a day you should show the ethical side, talk about special people who volunteer in your community (if you know any) and encourage donations to their cause. If not, you can recognize an effort by volunteers for a cause you or your business supports and donate to them and direct others to as well. Finally, you could tell a story from a time, someone, you know, or you had volunteered and your experience from the time.

21st April – Tea Day

The UK’s favourite and most famous drink a day where you can talk about stories to do with Tea (maybe you were drinking it when you decided to start your business) or any other tea-related story. If not try and engage with your followers, ask them what flavour or brand of tea is their favourite and share yours too.

29th April – International Dance Day

This is a day where it’s about passion and expression no matter how good you are at dancing it’s a release and everyone can appreciate that. I suggest posting about anyone you know who dances, any dancers you think are positive or aspirational or even show your favourite dance from the popular app TikTok! The day just needs to show positivity.

Remember to always try and use the hashtag for the day (usually the name of the day) as this will get more engagement, also always try and link it to your business in some way (if possible) and happy posting for April! Subscribe to our newsletter here.
