So you have a few minutes, lets use this time wisely and improve your website. Here are seven quick ways to improve your website today!

1.  First things first, check how fast your website download speed is. No one likes to wait for ages on a white page, waiting for the information you need right now, to slowly load. Often this can make people leave the website. So step number one, check your speed!

Google Speed Test?

It’s important that your website loads quickly, to keep browsers interested. If your site seems to take awhile to load (above 10 seconds) improve it’s speed by making the pictures and videos as small (in file size) as possible, as they are the main culprit for slow-loading websites.

2.  Remove all your click here phrases. As browsers of your website are unlikely to read every word, you need to make sure that the phrases that lead you to download something or direct you to a new page make sense out of context for example “download website tips”.

3. Help your SEO very quickly by strengthening your keywords. This is definitely the fastest way to improve your site, and will also help to move your site up the search results. Highlight your keywords and phrases, then add the strong tag (bold) around them. Don’t over do it though!

4. If you don’t already have one, add a search box, add one! Visitors don’t enjoy sites that they can’t navigate, so make sure that they find your site easy and enjoyable to use.

5. Make sure your meta-descriptions are appealing and powerful. Ensure that what is said makes sense, and that it attracts people to click on the link and visit your site.

6. Why not ask for feedback? It looks great on your site to have positive reviews from your customers. Encourage your audience to give you feedback, by making it easy to do so. Include a form on your site that is easy to fill out and quick, so that audiences think, why not!

7.  Finally, make sure that you stress the benefits of your company. Maintain throughout the website and in all your text the ways in which your website, and company can help your target market. Sell yourself, but not too much that you scare you customers away!
