When marketing your business on social media, most people don’t know what to do, how to convey their brand in the right way and to get customers from their social media marketing. Social Media is essential in your business’ marketing today, just by making the right choices on your profile and spending 15 minutes a day on there, can improve your business and help generate new leads.

 

Step 1 – Social Media Research

Then you need to create a brand image and theme to use on your social media, this will help keep everything branded and more aesthetically pleasing, it has been shown people are more likely to like and engage with a post they would like to look at, just like they would on a beautiful, coordinated website. For this, you need to decide a colour (usually your company colours/the colours mainly used on your website), and format for posts and remember to put your logo on each picture you post.

 

Step 2 – Growing your brand online

The next steps are gaining accountability and reaching your leads. First, you should get people you know to follow e.g. friends and family. Then ask your repeat and most loyal customers to follow, they can help advocate and engage in your posts, the more followers you can gain, the better, as this is more accountability that you have a large base of happy clients and you are a popular business. 

You can use competitions to gain more followers and engagement, by putting it in the entry rules any combination of following/liking the page, sharing the post, commenting and tagging people in the comments and then make the prize of your competition something involved with your business either a discount or something for free. Also think of engaging post ideas including infographics, quotes, testimonials, exclusive discounts and new products or services launching.

Step 3 – Retention and growth of your Social Media

The final step is retention and growth, once you have built up your followers and are sharing posts regularly, your account will continue to grow to help this process there are a few things you can do. Do regular competitions, offer different things as prizes and use the different suggestions for entryways above, therefore gaining more popularity and exposure to your page each time.

Also use insights available on most popular social media platforms, to see what times your posts are usually the most engaged at, this will help you be able to post around this time frame more often, also use insights to see what posts did the best in the past e.g. had the most engagements or views, this can help you determine why these posts are doing better and how to adapt future posts to get the most engagements too.
