Driver Skills Training
We’ve been working with Driver Skills Training for a number of years, looking after their website and keeping it up-to-date and secure.
But after the introduction of Social Distancing methods to combat the coronavirus pandemic, we worked with them to move their classroom based training online…
Driver skills training
With over 50 years experience, Mansfield based Driver Skills Training deliver CPC & FORS training courses for commercial drivers at locations across the East Midlands.
After social distancing measures were introduced, it was impractical (and unsafe) to carry on with the classroom based approach of the Driver CPC course. But rather than cancelling and refunding the clients who are already booked in, Driver Skills Training approached us to see if there was what technological solutions.
DIGITAL ONLINE TRAINING
In response to the pandemic, the government had relaxed the rules surrounding online training, and due to their standing with the DVSA (the governing body), Driver Skills Training was given the go-ahead to start offering online courses.
We had to react quickly so the clients who had already signed up for the classroom courses, could have the same courses delivered online.
WHat we have achieved
Working in partnership with the client, and using XposureHUB marketing automation, in only 3 weeks we were able to transform them from a classroom-based company to a full digital training provider. This included…
- Providing reliable, unlimited video presentation tools (each course lasts 7 hours)
- Integrated an automated signup procedure, built into their existing e-commerce website
- A process for collecting driver’s licences, course registration and other documents through the website (previously done manually)
- Provide simple joining instructions that could be sent to each participant once sign up procedure was complete
- Adapting the paper-based tests to an online format
- Send automatic feedback and follow-up process for the end of each course.
- And templates for contacting the drivers to ask for a Google or Facebook review
the future
The Digital Training opens up further opportunities for the client, who will be able to more easily offer courses nationwide, without travel and classroom availability restrictions.
We’ll also look at what from this process can be kept for when classroom-based courses can resume, as much of the document collection was quicker and easier than previously.
There are further time-saving measures that will be put in place shortly. Rather than only having a library of emails and resources to send to participants, for example, emails asking for driving licences, data protection notices, or forms to be completed before the start of the session, the next step is to automate these processes further as they sign up and book.
Using the smart technology built into XposureHUB, many of these items will be sent out automatically at the right stage to the participants, with alerts and notifications to keep Driver Skills Training and their course instructors in the loop and in control.
What our client says…
“We completed the five days of courses yesterday with no major issues; we had an Audit by the JAUPT Inspector on the last course… We had a chat at the end of his visit; he stated it was the best video presentation he had audited, most of the others had delays in transmission, pixilation & interruptions. None of them had our facility to process online documentation.”
